Tessa Bangs, BA in Music   violin / fiddle teacher

Tessa began playing the fiddle when she was five years old. Her fiddle instructors have included Brian Hebert, April Verch, and Louis Schryer. Tessa has also studied classical violin. She has her Grade 10 level for violin with the Royal Conservatory of Music and received a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Ottawa in 2017. As a performer, Tessa competed for many years on the fiddle contest circuit and has many first place titles to her credit. She has participated in traditional Irish session around the whole, from Belfast to Barcelona, Buenos Aires to Bogota. She has played violin in the Ottawa Youth Orchestra, Thirteen Strings, the Gloriana String Quartet, the University of Ottawa Orchestra and the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra. As a teacher, Tessa has taught fiddle at all levels and to all ages at Chad Wolfe’s studios and at Long and McQuade.
