Duo Pleiades is a professional violin and guitar duet based in Ottawa Canada. Duo plays music in a multitude of styles: Classical, Jazz, Popular, Celtic, Tango, Choro, Country, etc. Established in 2011, Duo Pleiades has been specialising in variety of performance settings including weddings, retirement communities, chamber music concert series, and private home concerts. Together Anna and Andrew have performed at hundreds of events, serenaded thousands of people and traveled thousands of miles all around Capital Region to deliver music to weddings venues, churches, retirement homes and private farms and homes. Special Occasion / Holiday / Christmas Event Music
Anna Baksheeva performs regular special seasonal concerts for Christmas, New Year, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Canada Day etc. around Ottawa and Gatineau Capital region as a solo violinist and with her duet partners. Private house parties, corporate events, bridal showers, graduations, retirement home Christmas and New Years concerts and dinner parties are just few of the special occasions Anna has played for over the years! Special seasonal concerts can have a great variety of music genres from the main theme songs (Christmas, Love Songs, etc) and popular covers, classical, fiddle music and jazz songs added by request. Any occasion and party will be uplifted with the great selections of music from our huge play list and your special requests.
Music for Funeral Services
Soothing and uplifting funeral service music played on violin or duo violin and guitar or violin Irish harp / piano is a beautiful way to celebrate your loved one life and create best atmosphere for the occasion. Personalized song lists and variety of styles, special requests are available for each funeral ceremony from a small event at the cemetery for few friends and family to a large service at a church with a lunch gathering afterwards. Retirement Home Concerts
Anna and her duo particularly enjoy performing at retirement residences, bringing the joy of music to where it is needed most. Always professional and fun, they are ready to play a wide range of music styles, from classical favourites to good old jazz and oldies, fiddle tunes, blue grass, and even country and western hits, tango, choro, and traditional tunes from around the world. Over 500 concerts for retirement communities and counting!
Private Yard Concerts
During the warm season Front / Back Yard concerts are really fun way to enjoy music at your private setting, hear your special requests and enjoy great time with your loved ones whether it’s your Birthday, Anniversary, Canada Day BBQ, wedding cocktail or ceremony, best friends tea party or more.
House Concerts
House Concerts have been around as long as music history can trace them back. They are so very enjoyable way to celebrate special occasion, get together with friends and music lovers, meet new people and listen to the songs/styles of music you wish to hear. Anna takes requests and has huge repertoire for special requests to perform. Solo violin, duo with guitar, harp or piano are available.
School Visitations
Anna takes great pleasure in visiting schools around the Ottawa/Gatineau region, providing lecture concerts , demos, power point presentations and stories about music and violin. Children can choose to sing along, play along (on simply percussion instruments), dance or just listen. There is also an opportunity for the children to demo a violin of their size.
Associate Musicians
Anna performs and collaborates with many professional musicians in our Capital Region. They are on call and ready to come and perform for a wedding or event so you can be certain that our live music will be on your special day!
